Danette Jean Patton, 80, passed away peacefully on September 07, 2022, at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Dani was born in Amarillo, the oldest daughter of B. B. (Friday) and Elaine (Torchie) Phillips. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1960 and received her A.S. degree from Amarillo College in 1962. Dani worked as an accountant and CFO in the oil and gas industry for her entire career, living in Lubbock, Austin, San Antonio, Las Vegas, Little Rock, and Allen, TX until finally moving back to Las Vegas in 2011 with her husband John.
Dani delighted in caring for her family, working hard, having fun, helping others and being kind to everyone she met. She was a loving and devoted wife, business partner, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, classmate, neighbor, and friend. Dani always lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, deep sea fishing, skeet shooting, casino games, listening to music and playing the market, and she was an avid cook, baker, seamstress, and needlepointer. Those who met and knew Dani will always remember her compassion and generosity, her penchant for calling everyone “sugar”, her easy smile and her thoughtful gift giving. Dani will be missed by all, but her legacy will live through everyone whose lives she made a bit brighter.
Dani is survived by her sister Janet Winkler of Amarillo, TX, her daughter Teresa Page and husband John of Olathe, KS, her son John Wheeler and wife Ann of Haymarket, VA, her beloved grandchildren Nichole Johnson, Erica Johnson, Elizabeth Wheeler and Christina Wheeler, as well as great-grandchildren Storm, Gabe, Logan, Kasen, Jaxon and Trinity.
